Family Service program quality re-affirmed by national accrediting body
Family Service of Central Indiana, Inc., was recently re-accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). Family Service was first accredited by COA in the late 1970s, and all COA-accredited organizations must be re-accredited every four years.
COA accreditation attests that an organization meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best quality services. Nationwide, 1,000 private and public organizations, which serve a combined 6 million people in the United States and Canada, are accredited by COA.
The COA re-accreditation process involved an in-depth examination of Family Service’s standards. This review included human resources, financial and risk management, continuous quality-improvement activities, and thirty-nine service standards. These standards address a full array of services that are offered by Family Service: financial and debt management, employee assistance programs, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and more.
