Ways to Work family loans
Small,
low-interest loans are available to help qualified parents who cannot get loans elsewhere. The loans are for things that help parents keep a job or stay in school, such as the
purchase of a used car or car
repairs. Other valid loan purposes
include first month’s rent and deposit, child care expenses and other
work-related needs.
Up
to $750 can be used for car repairs.
Up
to $850 can be used for first month's rent and deposit.
Up
to $800 can be used for child care.
Up
to $500 can be used for medical, dental or work-related expenses.
Up
to $3,500 can be loaned to purchase a car, with a limit of one car
per family.
To
qualify for a loan, you must meet these eligibility requirements:
Be
at least 18 and unable to qualify for a loan through a bank or
other lending institution.
Demonstrate
the ability to pay a $10 non-refundable application fee.
Be
legal guardian of one or more children under 18.
Have
held your current job for at least nine months, working a minimum
of 30 hours per
week OR are actively enrolled and taking at least
nine credit hours in a post-secondary
school.
Demonstrate
the ability to repay the loan within the agreed terms over the
course
of the loan.
Live
in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion or Morgan counties.
