Togetherness Tips?
Set aside some family time!
These
days families are finding it difficult to spend quality time together.
That’s why we’ve brainstormed this list of simple activities for you
and your family to enjoy. They don’t require much time or money, but
they do promote fun, love and togetherness…
Invent family traditions and
build them into the weekly
calendar – for instance, Wednesday
night pizza parties,
Saturday morning trips to the library or Sunday
afternoon
board game tournaments.
Get moving together! Take a
walk around the block, ride
your bikes or go swimming at the local
gym.
Give back to your community by
volunteering as a family
at your favorite, local nonprofit agency
(how about Family
Service?)
Keep in touch with elderly
relatives through short visits,
phone calls, letters and e-mail.
Establish family reading time
– even 15 minutes each
night will do.
Search online together for
other family-oriented websites.
Plan and prepare a meal
together – and most importantly, sit down to eat and catch up.
Easier said than done, you say? Here are some dinner table tricks to
get the family talking:
brainstorm
spots for the next family vacation
plan a family business
project like a garage sale
compose
a family letter to Santa
have a great family debate about the
best movie, sports team or book of all time.
