Education
Parenting can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience, but it can also be challenging and frightening. Parenting classes offered through Family Service equip parents with the skills to deal with the many unknowns of child-rearing. Instructors teach the developmental needs of children at different ages as well as ways to effectively manage behavior. Parenting is a tough job and requires skills and information to be effective. All parents can use a little help now and then.
Four unique 8-week programs cover:
Parenting preschoolers (birth to age 4)
Parenting school-age children (ages 5 to 11)
Parenting adolescents (ages 12+)
Latino parenting (all ages) -- evenings only
